The Next Hit TV Show?
So, last night I gave in and signed up for the web site version of the
South Beach Diet. I had found a link that offered it for $29.95 for the
first six weeks--can't ever pass up a bargain! (I figure buying the book would cost about the same, since it is too new for there to be bargain used ones for sale.)
It looks like it is similar to the Zone Diet in basic theory, and I did
well when on that. I also like the whole community thing the web page
offers, with chat rooms and message boards. The site provides a
customizable menu and will print out your shopping list for you.
The scary part so far is that the meals seem to be designed by Ted from
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. All sorts of olive oil, fresh herb, real
produce kinds of things. I don't believe I have ever in my life bought
capers before. I am thinking maybe there is a spin off show brewing
here. Maybe call it, "Queer Pals for the Fat Gals"?
Oh, well, I only bought 4 days worth of the *FAWNCY* stuff. I think it's
possible to go surfing around the site and find alternate recipes more to
one's personal taste. Or maybe I will grow to love using romaine lettuce
leaves to make a non-bread sandwich.
